Author Biography and Introduction

About the Authors

Eric Berkenpas: I am a big sports fan born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Naturally, this makes me a fan of all Pittsburgh sports (except for my Michigan Wolverines roots that come from my extended family). I graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA in 2011 with a degree in Accounting and have been working in downtown Pittsburgh since. I like to say that I am unbiased in general, but sometimes passion can get in the way of that and like any passionate sports fan, outrageous things can escape my mouth. In a blog-type setting, however, my unbiased nature will prevail. I was inspired to start a sports blog by a good friend of mine, Caleb Mussleman, who just recently started a blog with a couple friends of his which can be found by following this link: http://sportseyeview.blogspot.com/. I am not an expert in all sports so you will find that I will post primarily about hockey and baseball as they are my true passion. I am new to the blogging scene and look forward to learning as I go. I hope you enjoy what you read and please give me feedback in the comments sections of my articles.

Jim Brouse: I am a self-described sports freak that grew up in the Greater Washington DC area. I guess that would classify myself as the “Beyond” in the blog title. One would think that I am a huge Washington sports fan; however my two favorite teams to watch are the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB), and Chelsea Football Club (Premier League Soccer). I am, in fact, a fan of Washington DC teams and I regularly attend/watch as many games as I can, however my loyalty will always lie with the Phillies and Blues. I double majored in Business and Mathematics from East Carolina University and I moved back home to the DC area post-graduation. This is my second stint as a sports blogger, and for the most part, I will be able to stay fairly unbiased with my articles, but there will be a sliver of a bias making a cameo here and there. My expertise lays with Baseball, Soccer and NCAA Football, but my focus will be on the first two. These sports also happen to be the two sports I played for a majority of my life (and I continue to play both). I look forward to covering MLB and all the different aspects of Soccer, both International and Club. Feel free to drop a question, or make a suggestion. I’ll talk anything sports!

*Cheers*
